Hi Everyone,
Emily passed away peacefully at home this morning. I was with Emily holding her hand when she took her final wee breaths. Gary and Aunty Chris were there too. The last thing she said to me was at 3am this morning while I was helping her with something…she said, “Sorry I woke you Mum” … Then when I helped her back to bed she said, “I love you.”
The blog will be updated this afternoon with the date for the celebration of Emily’s life.

Ive sat here awhile trying to write this however im Struggling in trying to find words, but want you to know you are all constantly in our thoughts. I will never forget the excitment Kath when you first told us you were pregnant and then meeting Emily for the the first time, a absolutely beautiful baby with such a cute smile. I strongly remember Sherilyns face when she popped by to visit Kath and Emily one day, Her face beaming ear to ear with excitment and being so proud when cuddling her beautiful Granddaughter. A Very special moment to witness.
What a strong, selfless, courageous and amazing wee Girl you were Emily. You have touched so many lives and brought love and been an inspiration to many. Rest now Emily, you will always be in our thoughts.

My thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. Emily was such a great big sister i enjoyed seeing her give Charlotte big kisses and cuddles when she dropped her off at preschool(Cats pjs). Emily’s journey has been so inspirational to alot of people.

Holly has kept us informed of Emily’s ups and downs over the last two years and I have nothing but praise for you both, for you strength and how you have kept your family strong through the trying times. Emily is such a inspiration to us all, a real kiwi batteler.She stole the hearts of all the children at Rolleston School and they will miss her happy wee face and bubbly personality. Keira and Aaliyah thought she was just the bees knees!! My heart breaks for you and your family.

Thank you so much for sharing Emily’s blog with us, as being the other side of the World we were still able to communicate throughout Emily’s journey………….. and what a journey it has been. She was such an inspiration to everyone and even considerate and caring right to the end.

What a huge journey you have had to face.
Your dear Emily was special to our Brooke they meet at mathers road preschool.She was a year older than Brooke but it was always Emily Woodin and Emily Wilson who were like wee mother hubbards to her she always came home talking of her. It was the two Emily’s that Brooke would want to hang with and to help her she truly adored your girl.Thanks Em for sharing a special place in my wee girls heart. You will always shine.

Kath and Gary im so sorry for your loss. I really am lost for words and dont no what to say, what do you say?? I was cleaning the other day and thought id look in Arias special box, in there I found a wee card that Emily had made for me when Aria was born. I had the biggest smile on my face, she really was a sweet wee girl and she will be sadly missed. xxxx Im so glad Em got to meet baby Alex xxx

Kath and Gary, we really can’t even begin to understand what you are going through now. You are both awesome parents and have done a fabulous job raising Emily – a beautiful, bright, brave, happy girl with a great sense of humour. Even though Em has been taken from us at an early age, she has had so many life experiences and is loved by so many friends and family. The decisions you have made over the last few years, while differcult, have given Em a great life and it has been our privilege to know Emily. Words cannot describe the saddness I feel about the passing of Emily. She was an amazing young lady who shone brightly even through the toughest days.
I can still hear her asking me to watch her on the bars at kindy. She would do her wee demonstration then finish with a huge smile.
Emily has touched the lives of so many people and I feel blessed to have known her… she is a true inspiration to us all.
RIP Emily…. you are truely a precious angel…
