Hi Everyone,
Emily passed away peacefully at home this morning. I was with Emily holding her hand when she took her final wee breaths. Gary and Aunty Chris were there too. The last thing she said to me was at 3am this morning while I was helping her with something…she said, “Sorry I woke you Mum” … Then when I helped her back to bed she said, “I love you.”
The blog will be updated this afternoon with the date for the celebration of Emily’s life.

My god, I can’t stop crying. I cannot even imagine what you must be feeling. My heart goes out to you all. You are the most amazing and gracious family I know, and Emily was a gorgeous wee girl. Cancer is a disgusting disease and I send my love to you all.

Katherine and family i met you in the hospital a couple of years ago and know a few friends of yours. I am so sad to hear of darling wee Emily’s passing, she was such a courageous little girl with an amazing family with so much love. RIP darling girl

So so sorry to hear such sad news. Even though it was inevitable still such a shock. We’re thinking of you all. No child or family should ever have to go through this. We’ll miss little Emily Gemily and are so grateful to have known her.

Crying, but glad she is no longer suffering. Sending strength to you all, you are an amazing family and you will all get through this.
To think she made it two days after another NB warrior’s 21st birthday, the day they officially discharge you from hospital if you had NB as a child. I wish we all could have seen her grow up, but in many ways she was too wise and special for this world already.

My heart is breaking for you Kath, Gary and family. I met Emily once the last time I was in NZ and she was a happy beautiful girl. She was a fighter to the very end and now she is at peace.

Dear Katherine, Gary and family,

Kath, Gary & families,
So hard to believe Emily has left us, she has touched so many hearts with her infectious smile and great sense of humor. A very special girl who has fought right until the end, with an absolutely amazing family surrounding her every step of the way.
