Scan Results – Friday 23 March, 2012
Yesterday Emily had a CT scan of her chest, abdomen and pelvis. Results showed no evidence of disease in these areas of her body. Whilst this is good, unfortunately this doesn’t change the prognosis but hopefully means it gives Emily more time to live life to the full (and maybe a miracle cure in the interim… I wish!!). It also means we don’t have to start low dose chemo straight away, hence giving her more quality of life. Basically after we finish the radiation next week we wait and watch. Minimal residual disease is in her body and will present itself in tumor form somewhere, possibly even in the bone marrow. The waiting and watching will be torture but we have to try and be as normal as possible for as long as possible. Such a cruel disease!
Emily is half way through the radiation treatment to her jaw and is coping tremendously well. She has ulcers in her mouth and a bit of a sore throat at this stage, but otherwise feels well.

So pleased that the scan results came back clear. Miracles do happen and i hope and pray that a miracle happens for little Emily as she deserves it !!!!! xxx

Hi Woodins ( and your attachment family members Vanessa and Leona) I have been following Emilys journey of late, and I send daily hugs your way from down here in Waikouaiti. I have been hard out working on the camp logbook, and sorting through 1000’s of images that me and Jon and Mike have taken at camp qulaity this year, and Emily appears in heaps, smiling, laughing, leaping round…another happy memeory for her by the looks of it. Looking forward to sharing these happy moments with you all very soon… Mischa Clouston

Hey guys
Have been thinking of you all and checking the blog every day so was very happy to get the update, great to hear Emily can continue to live life to the full at the moment, its such a cruel journey for her but it is great that for the moment she is well and not in too much pain, long let that continue for her :) And great work on the mufti day today :) oxox
