Emily's Journey

Emily's journey started on Friday 8 January, 2010 where it was discovered that after some time of being unwell, her body has actually been fighting cancer. This site is dedicated to those who want to encourage her through this journey.

Day 83 – Wednesday 31 March, 2010

Filed under: Emily Update — Vanessa Palmer at 9:48 pm on Wednesday, March 31, 2010

This was a present from Emily’s class.  Each leaf had a written note.  One said “I don’t know you Emily but I like you”.

Emily is still fighting the infections in her body.   The multitude of antibiotics she is on seem to have her improving slightly each day.  Her inflamed bowel is very tender so her nutritional needs are being met intravenously to give her bowel a rest.  She is on diuretics to reduce the fluid in her lungs.  It will be days before Emily is well enough for Round 8 of chemo.

Hi Emily,

We are sorry to read that you have had such a grotty week and we are really hoping that you feel better soon. We liked the photos of you with your cousins, and the flowers from your class look cool. If you are well enough in the holidays and are able to come home for a bit we would like to come for a visit, the girls would love to see you again.
Take care wee darling.
Lots of special hugs from Steph, Don, Nicola, Jess, Ollie, Kate and Alex. XXXXXXXOOOOOOO

Hey Em and family
I love the flowers, they brought a smile to my face, what a thoughtful class.
Sorry to hear you are sick hun, give those germs a real kick up the bottom, and tell them not to come back!! We hope you feel good enough over the next few days to have some Easter Eggs, hugs to you all.
xx

Hi Emily

Sure hope all those antibiotics get to do their stuff really soon. Grandma brought Jack and Charlotte to see us at the weekend, and Jack promised me he would give you a big hug and kiss from me – I hope he did!! We hope you will be able to have that next round of chemo in the not too distant future and then you can all get a rest from the hospital for a while. Lots of love and hugs to you and Mum and Dad. I am thinking about you all all the time. Aren’t the flowers from your classmates lovely? Good luck wee one. :)
Love from Paula
